Lazio forward Mauro Zarate received a three-game ban Monday for triggering a general brawl after a league game his side lost 3-1 at Bologna at the weekend, the Lega Serie A announced.
Zarate, who was replaced after a dull first half, kicked a ball against an opponent at game's end and inadvertently slapped a game official as he hurled himself against other Bologna players.
Bologna's Greek defender Vangelis Moras was banned for one game for his role in the brawl. His Uruguayan team-mate Henry Gimenez is to miss two games for leaving the bench after being substituted to assault Andre Diaz.
Brazil defender Diaz was himself banned for one game following a red card for the elbowing of Uruguayan Gaston Ramirez, who suffered a broken cheekbone.
