The 23rd round of Spanish league matches finished on Monday with a 1-0 home win for Mallorca over fifth-placed Athletic Bilbao.
The only goal in Palma came in the 11th minute, when Pierre Webo turned in an excellent centre from the left from the promising Emilio Nsue.
Bilbao dominated from then on but failed to find a way past solid Mallorca keeper Dudu Aouate. Mallorca were content to play on the break, soaking up the pressure, and Webo came close to scoring a second goal on three occasions.
The win takes Mallorca up to 10th, at the same time as it keeps Bilbao in fifth place, seven points behind fourth-place Villarreal.
