Real Madrid facts and figures

Facts and figures regarding Real Madrid, who play at Olympique Lyon in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 match on Tuesday:



* Real Madrid's domestic form has been patchy in recent weeks but they enjoyed a 2-0 win over Levante on Saturday and are in second place behind champions and great rivals Barcelona in the La Liga title race.
* Jose Mourinho's side were held to a 1-1 draw at Almeria on Jan. 16 and slumped to a shock 1-0 defeat at Osasuna two weeks later. They did manage to get past city rivals Atletico and holders Sevilla into the final of the King's Cup.

* Reports of a breakdown in the relationship between Mourinho and club director general Jorge Valdano have been an unwanted distraction and the pair also clashed over the need for a replacement striker for the injured Gonzalo Higuain.



* Mourinho eventually got his way and the club brought in Emmanuel Adebayor on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season.



* The Togo international has been an instant success, scoring in the Cup against Sevilla and in the league in this month's 4-1 home win over Real Sociedad.
