Soccer-Arsenal facts and figures

Facts and figures regarding Arsenal who meet Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 match in Barcelona on Wednesday:

* Arsenal have enjoyed a successful period since their last Champions League match on Dec. 8 when they beat Partizan Belgrade 3-1 to finish second in Group H and seal a place in the last 16.

* They have maintained their challenge for a first Premier League title since 2004 by winning six of the 10 League matches they have played since, being beaten only once, at Manchester United on Dec. 13.

* However, manager Arsene Wenger said he was concerned about the "psychological impact" last week's 4-4 draw at Newcastle United might have on his side, after they allowed the 4-0 lead they established in the first 26 minutes to slip away.

* As well as sitting second in the table behind Manchester United, Arsenal have also advanced to the final of the League Cup, where they face Birmingham City on Feb. 27, as well as the last 16 of the FA Cup.

* Arsenal made no significant signings during the January transfer window, although Wenger's side have been boosted by the return to full fitness of Dutch winger Robin van Persie, who scored his first goal of the season against Partizan and has now totalled 12 for the season.
